PERSISTENT SPECTRAL HOLE-BURNING PHENOMENON OF SEMICONDUCTOR NANOCRYSTALS - OBSERVATION, MECHANISM AND APPLICATION

Persistent spectral hole-burning phenomenon was observed generally in semiconductor nanocrystals, CdSe, CdSSe, CuCl and CuBr, embedded in glass and crystal. Hole depth grew in proportion to logarithm of the burning fluence. Thermally-annealing and light-induced hole-filling phenomena were observed. The hole-burning and hole-filling experiments are well explained by the model of the two-level-system in the configuration coordinates. Possible application of the persistent spectral hole burning phenomenon is discussed.
