READING LITERACY INTO THE SYSTEM OF CONCEPTS THAT INTRODUCE THE COMMUNICATIVE COMPETENCE OF THE PERSON

In this article the students' reading literacy, which is an element of their functional competence, is referred as a necessary condition for the transformation of the growing ups towards independently thinking people that successfully cope with the challenges presented in their environment. The implementation of this process into the educational Bulgarian language curriculum is defined as an important task of the modem communicatively oriented Bulgarian language teaching. A special attention is paid to the concepts' meanings regarding the reading literacy and the functional competence. A rationale is given to the place of the reading literacy into the system of concepts that introduce the communicative competence of the person.
