摘要
The cooling of an optical fibre in the presence of mixed convection during the drawing process was examined analytically. This paper presents fibre temperature distributions for a broad range of drawing parameters, such as diameter of the fibre, drawing speed, and material properties. The results obtained are presented in graphical form and can be used to determine the cooling length, the axial temperature profiles, and the radial temperature gradients of optical fibres during drawing.
