摘要：
The most common elementary soil structures (ESS) in the sequence of natural zones of the European Russia have been described and categorized. IL is suggested that they be grouped into subclasses in accordance with the agents promoting soil-cover differentiation, and named after these agents-processes, Subdivision at lower levels-soil families and types-should be done using basic soil-forming processes and ESS composition as differentiating criteria.
