This paper is about aspects intervening of Act no 12.527, of November 18, 2011, known as the Act on Access to Information, in the organizational process of records management. It presents a brief literature review of the topic, as well as on the issue of access to public records/archives. This study is part of a broader research, in progress, about the main concepts of records management, activities and its application in organizations. It lies in the perspective of the discussions about the influences of Act recently promulgated in Brazil - to guarantee Brazilian citizens the full and free access to information of the Executive, Legislative and Judiciary branches, except those restricted or confidential - to ensure its access on records management, particularly the processing and the organization of records/archives of an institution.
