The objective of this study was to compare the effect of 36 mg of zeranol and trenbolone acetate, 72 mg of zeranol and trenbolone acetate, and 20 mg of estradiol and trenbolone acetate, implanted either once or twice during the feeding period, on performance and carcass traits of finishing steers. In this first part of the two-part article, the test animals, treatment groups, procedures, and methods of statistical analysis are discussed.
