This newspaper research has been developed from articles published during 2007-2011, and comes from electronic sources; the pathology selections was intentional, depending on higher morbidity, in pre-analysis hard data was codified to guarantee selection and fragment consistency determination by verifying convergences and complementarity and then recognize relevant structures. The content analysis was made through several author's contributions, emerging predominant thematic units like pathologies and preventive care. These are agglutinated in nuclei, according to transmission mechanisms: pathologies transmitted by arthropods, water and food; infectious diseases, and by sexual contact. Results show pathologies which tourists cannot only be vulnerable, but also carriers and spreaders of diseases not existing in their everyday habitat. Preventive measures to be followed by travelers are given both collectively and individually. It is concluded that disease prevention is to be immunized and avoid risky practices, and the advisable behavior is to investigate about health conditions of the place to visit, since requesting pre-travel counseling promotes security and health, with this, tourists become wellbeing population preserves.
