摘要
In The Lost Lawyer: Failing Ideals of the Legal Profession, Anthony Kronman argues that the collapse of the lawyer-statesman ideal has left the legal profession adrift and has created a collective identity crisis for lawyers. The book's author feels that the malaise of so many lawyers begins in law school, where the professional habits of most lawyers first take shape. In his review, Professor Aaronson responds to Kronman's pessimism about contemporary legal education and challenges several assumptions underlying Kronman's evaluation of the crisis now confronting the profession. Professor Aaronson discusses the benefits of clinical legal education to good lawyering, an aspect of legal education that the book's author overlooked entirely.
