摘要
Aim: Compression of the median nerve at the wrist is the most frequently observed entrapment neuropathy. The aim of our study was to investigate the accuracy of clinically diagnosed CTS by using electroneuromyography (ENMG). Material and Method: 500 patients who applied to our ENMG laboratory were investigated. 276 CTS(Carpal Tunnel Syndrome) prediagnosed patients were included in the study. Results: There was a concordance between the referral diagnosis and the results of ENMG, in 62.8% of the patients. The ENMG results were normal in 37.2% of the patients. Discussion: There was a low verification rate for the prediagnosis of CTS by ENMG indicating that clinical evaluation alone is inaccurate in the diagnosis of CTS.
