摘要
The results obtained with a cloud chemistry model are compared to aircraft observations of cloud water. Air masses containing stratiform clouds were sampled several times. The data is used for a Lagrangian study. Model results are also compared to observations performed in cumuli. The simulated concentrations of sulphate in cloud water agree reasonably well with observed values. This suggests that the model comprises all relevant processes contributing to the sulphate concentrations. Nucleation and oxidation reactions involving hydrogen peroxide and sulphur dioxide are the most important contributors to sulphate in cloud water. In winter conditions it is the nucleation mechanism which predominates.
