This article analyzes how the reading classes are developed in the rural school "Escola Municipal Parigot de Souza", in Jacutinga community, located thirty kilometers far from Francisco Beltrao, Parana. This school was chosen due to the differentiated methodology - maintained together with the community - that consists in the effective participation of the local population about subjects related with their daily lives as well as the school extent, resulting in themes belonging to the children's routine in order to be studied in the classroom. In order to carry out the field research, it was used an ethnographic approach in which the researcher, submerged in the context to be studied, observes the classroom's daily scenes and the relationships establish between people from this totality. Based on theoretical studies and on the analysis of the collected material, the present article intends to establish reflections and to problematize aspects of the used methodology when inserted in the classroom context.
