摘要
Two basic methods are available for the imaging of elements in CT using synchrotron or other monochromatic radiation. By switching the energy of the X-ray beam across an absorption edge, images can be produced whether or not the analyte can be added to the matrix after a scan of the matrix. If the matrix can be scanned and then the analyte added, as in some studies using contrast agents, the energy of the X-ray beam does not need to be changed between scans. A study is made of the sensitivity for elemental imaging in such cases and an equation which gives the minimum detectable analyte concentration is derived. © 1990.
