THERMAL METHODS IN NONDESTRUCTIVE TESTING

Thermal methods are increasingly being used in non destructive testing, competing with well-established methods. The recent break-through was possible thanks to the birth of new methods: photothermal and photoacoustic ones. After recalling their principle, the author tries to identify the recent trends in this field, starting from the last specialized international conferences. An overview, as exhaustive as possible, of the activities of the French laboratories ends this paper.
