SUB-POISSONIAN FLUCTUATIONS IN 2-BEAM SQUEEZED LIGHT

摘要
A homodyne balanced detector scheme, which uses two-beam squeezed vacuum (SV), generated by a parametric amplifier, is considered. Unlike the usual scheme here each detector sees only one half of the SV. In spite of this the fluctuations of the coherent homodyne field, as well as of the SV, are suppressed in the difference photocurrent below the shot-noise limit. The main advantage of the scheme is the arbitrary intensity of the coherent field relative to the SV intensity. © 1990.
