CRACK-TIP PLASTIC ZONES ASSESSED BY THE VON MISES YIELD CRITERION FROM STRAIN FIELD DATA

摘要
The shape and extent of the plastic zones around a crack-tip have been assessed using the von Mises yield criterion to define the yield locus. At each load point, the basic data were derived from the surface strain fields measured around the crack using moire interferometry to define the fields for three components of in-plane displacement in the high-strength aluminium alloy, RR 58.
