摘要：
In an 81 year old bedbound male admitted to a dermatology ward for pressure sores over both heels, a severe spinal deformity with-diffuse joint ankylosis and a bluish discoloration of the sclerae and skin over the face suggested alcaptonuric ochronosis. The diagnostic criteria for this rheumatic disease are reviewed. The differential diagnosis with ankylosing spondylitis is discussed.
