摘要
This paper reviews methods for measuring the degree of cleaning and describes a technique for determining cleaning efficiency. The technique is illustrated by removing paraffin wax from a glass slide using water, an alkaline solution or trichlorethane, and by removing a polyurethane coating with trichloroethane. Ultrasonic agitation of an aqueous alkaline solution was shown to decrease the cleaning time by a factor of up to 1500 compared with a stirred solution. The mechanisms involved in ultrasonic irradiation are discussed.
