摘要
The consequences of modifications in the ratio between chloride and bromide in the crystal lattice for the absorption spectrum of cyanines were investigated in crystals with a left brace 100 right brace as well as with a left brace 111 right brace habit. Sensitizing agents with a spectrum dependent upon the crystal habit and with a J-maximum at high chloride content of the cubic emulsion crystals, whereon they are adsorbed, lose their tendency toward aggregation, when 20-40% of bromide has been built in into the lattice. The J-aggregates of dyes adsorbed to octahedral grains with high bromide content can shift to H-aggregates with increasing chloride/bromide ratio in the grains. The results are discussed in the line of existing models.
