摘要
According to conventional astronomical theory a supernova - a star that explodes, releasing enormous energy - leaves behind a pulsar or a black hole, or is completely disrupted. This article reviews the properties of neutron stars, pulsars, and supernovae and possible mechanisms for their formation. © 1990.
