摘要
How does a new dean or director identify whom among a library's faculty and professionals are active in university and community endeavors, committees, governing boards, and university governance? Once identified, how does the new dean or director develop and leverage these valuable assets to assist in building support for the library among campus constituencies? Working with the chief library administrator, library staff cultivate productive relationships with the campus community and key stakeholders to the benefit of the library and ultimately the larger organization. Cultivated staff members assist the dean or director in building a culture of assisting campus decision makers with authoritative resources, making it easier for decision makers to effectively perform their duties while simultaneously raising the profile of the library and library services.
