QUANTUM ELECTRODYNAMICS IN THE POINCARE GAUGE

We consider the description of quantum electrodynamics in the Poincare gauge. Dirac brackets and the U matrix are constructed. The U matrix has the same formal structure as that found in the Coulomb gauge. We consider a modified version of the Poincare gauge conditions which restrict only the nonphysical components of the gauge potential. We show that the resulting description of QED turns out to be analogous to the Coulomb gauge.
