摘要
Lateral magnetotunneling through rectangular quantum dots is described by a conductance that includes many body effects within the dot while the coupling to the leads is given in a single particle picture. When either the Fermi energy or the bottom potential in the dot is varied one obtains for the single particle transmission some multiplets associated to the possibility of having eigenstates of the dot that are linear combinations of edge states related to several Landau states. The many body effects within the dot are described in a Hartree-Fock approach. Charging energies are independent of the magnetic field as experimentally observed. They change significantly when the number of electrons varies from 1 to 6 in a dot with lengths of the order of a few tenths of a micrometer. The actual conductance up to 6 electrons is essentially the single particle transmission shifted and broadened by charging effects.
