摘要
Reduction of weight is a cost factor also for high-pressure vessels. New composite vessel design with thin-walled core vessel and wound bracing. The wound bracing consists of glass or aramide heavy-duty fibers embedded in a thermoplastic matrix. Technology for the manufacture of the pressure vessels. Extensive material and vessel tests confirm the suitability of the new vessel design. The wound bracing counteracts the propagation of cracks in case of vessel fracture. The first trailer to be equipped with the newly developed double-neck pressure vessels will be commissioned already in 1992.
