DIGITALISATION AND TECHNOLOGICAL CONVERGENCE FROM THE SOCIOLOGICAL PERSPECTIVE OF THE GENERAL SOCIAL SYSTEMS THEORY

This paper discuss conceptually and offers an alternative sociological definition onto two distintive phenomena of the TIC's development from Ninenthies: digitalization and technological convergence. For this purpose we asume the perspective of General Social Systems Theory (GSST). We propose to define digitalization as an emergent communicative media and technological convergence as a digitalized coupling between technologies which functional purpose is probabilizes the dissemination of digitalized communication.
