摘要
This paper studies equilibrium phase behavior of the polymer solution in which long polymer chains are conterminously cross-linked by short chains or solvent molecules. It is shown that the sol-gel transition line exhibits a maximum at certain polymer concentration on the temperature-concentration plane. We focus our attention on the characteristic features caused by the interference between gelation and phase separation. Comparison of the theoretical results with the existing DSC data on the gel melting line for atactic polystyrene in carbon disulfide is detailed. © 1990, American Chemical Society.
