A system of noninteracting magnetic particles with uniaxial anisotropy including coherent as well as incoherent magnetization processes is considered, where the orientation of the easy axes is described by a distribution function, representing the texture by a single integer n. Within this model the remanance angle gamma is calculated in dependence on the texture parameter n and the 'degree of saturation' of the material. It is shown that the measurement of gamma gives a convenient method for the determination of the texture parameter also for completely saturated samples. For illustrating of the method experimental results for the hard magnetic materials BaFe//1//2O//1//9, Nd-Fe-B and Sm//2(Co, Fe, Cu, Zr)//1//5 are discussed.
