摘要
Author Jack E. Call takes a comprehensive look at the prisoners' rights law established by the Supreme Court, examining cases both chronologically and by subject area. He reports that the Court is presently in a period in which it largely defers to the judgment of corrections officials. He concludes that the Court has been generally unsupportive of prisoners in cases involving individual rights, conditions of confinement, and the procedures that are constitutionally required before various administrative actions affecting inmates can be taken but supportive on issues dealing with the right of inmates to access the courts.
