摘要
This paper examines the behaviour of reinforced high-strength concrete beams failing in pure torsion compared to 159 normal strength concrete beam tests collected from the literature. An assessment of the ultimate torsional capacity has shown that the best agreement between calculated and experimental test results is achieved if the cover is not taken into account in the calculation of the torsional capacity. It is shown that the ACI Building Code is conservative for both normal and high-strength concretes.
