摘要
One of the most important topics for handball players performance is the recovery of the fatigue after finishing the competition in several times in a day or over a few days, enhancing recovery may provide a competitive advantage. Athletes spend a much greater proportion of their time recovering than they do in training. Yet, much attention has been given to training and/or competition with very few investigations about recovery. Recovery is essential to optimal performance and improvement. The recovery process involves many times a protein synthesis. In order to maximize the recovery, it is important to maintain the muscular pool and blood levels of various amino acids that are substrates for the synthesis of muscle proteins and to know the type of fatigue that had to be recovered. The purpose of this review is to stimulate further research into this area and to summarize the scientific findings that could be of practical application.
