摘要:
One of the characteristics that took epidemics throughout history was the development of popular demonstrations in order to combat or at least mitigate the impact generated in terms of mortality and morbidity. The processions were an example of such intentions, which in many cases were used by the Church to generate political capital. These manifestations, in most cases, were against the measures which successive governments tried to impose in order to combat ailments. Butalso, epidemics were catalysts of a broad spectrum of issues, and the public policies that were created around them caused reactions that had little to do with religion. In this paper we analyze, from the newspapers of the time, impact and social responses that generated some public policies, arising from the crisis that forged the Spanish flu epidemic in the years 1918-1919 at three points of Argentina with political, economic and socio-demographic individuals: in the cities of Buenos Aires, Cordoba and Salta.
