Innovation and revolution: reflections on Digital TV and content crisis

In interdisciplinary studies on Digital Television, conflicting frameworks are used to describe the transformative nature of this medium, which is either defined as a revolution or an innovation. In light of genre concepts and movements of the audiovisual language and by taking a historical approach, it is possible to identify aspects that associate Digital Television more closely to the notion of innovation. It is from the innovation standpoint that this paper seeks to provide a preliminary reflection on what has been called "content crisis" in the Digital Television field.
