Wir schildern den Fall einer 50-jährigen Patientin, die sich bei uns mit Palpitationen, subfebrilen Temperaturen, peripheren Ödemen, Aszites, Epistaxis und blutigen Diarrhöen vorstellte. Labordiagnostisch bestand ein Schilddrüsenhormonexzess. Die Antikörperbestimmung zeigte einen Morbus Basedow als Ursache der thyreotoxischen Krise auf. Bemerkenswert ist eine Leberaffektion mit Proteinsynthesestörung, hypalbuminämischen Ödemen und Blutungskomplikationen, aber ohne Transaminasenanstieg. Eine thyreostatische Therapie führte zur klinischen Besserung.
