摘要
The results of forensic pathological, anthropological and archeological investigations of a mummy clouded in secrecy are presented. The object, an accidental and reputedly sensational find of a mummy in a wooden box/sarcophagus in the attic of a private house in northern Germany, was initially thought to be a genuine antiquity originating from ancient Egypt based on externally carried out extensive computed tomography investigations. This remarkable find provided huge interest for national and international media. Due to some possible criminal aspects (e.g. unknown corpse or murder case) the prosecuting attorney's office was involved. An interdisciplinary research team consisting of forensic experts, anthropologists and archeologists successfully revealed the mummy to be a skillful and intentional forgery. © 2013 Springer-Verlag Berlin Heidelberg.
