摘要
The effect of extraction of the ion current on the conditions for sustaining a low-pressure glow discharge with a hollow cathode, which is a topical problem for developing ion sources, is studied. It is shown that there exists a certain optimal level of the ion emission at which the energy efficiency reaches its maximum.
