摘要
The basic properties of Cherenkov radiation, the foundations of the Cherenkov photon imaging technique and the related design issues are discussed. The evolution of key performance parameters is provided through an overview of the most significative applications in high-energy physics experiments over the last decade. The current status and future prospects are analysed.
