摘要
Since surface finishing is a necessary process to meet various requirements in a manufacturing stage, numerous finishing method have been studied to improve the surface integrity. In particular, use of magnetic energy has been developed due to benefits for complex surface. However, it is an immature technique for non-ferrous materials due to low permeability, and also it is the time-consuming process for large area, which is caused be low finishing rate. To overcome drawbacks of magnetic finishing methods, this study suggests a magnetic pin polishing (MPP) process affected by combined magnetic and kinetic energy. According to analysis of experimentation, surface roughness improved due to pin’s dynamic motion which is generated by magnetic force and torque in presence of the magnetic field.
