Suddenly and unexpectedly, Arnold Picot passed at the young age of only 72 years. As one of the most renowned thought leaders of Germany’ business studies research, his work enriched multiple research areas. The present article presents proof for the argument that one of Picot’s research areas is Business Informatics. For this purpose, Picot’s ten most cited publications are analyzed, followed by a detailed discussion of two selected works. Following the results of the analyses, it can be concluded that Arnold Picot in deed was an Business Informatics Researcher, whose work was not limited to academic research but also to the institutional development of the discipline. © 2019, Schmalenbach-Gesellschaft für Betriebswirtschaft e.V.
