Inflicted ano-genital injuries in children: Physical abuse or sexual abuse?

The ano-genital findings of two young children who died as a result of inflicted head injury are reported. These injuries were severe enough to lead to an initial suspicion that sexual abuse had also occurred as part of the fatal assault.
