摘要
The objective of this study is to identify, investigate, and study the impact of sustainable manufacturing barriers (SMBs) for successful sustainable manufacturing implementation in the Indian textile sector. A comprehensive literature study was carried out and expert opinions were used to determine the various barriers. The study has been carried out in two different ways i.e., firstly extensive nationwide survey of Indian textile organizations was conducted to check the superiority and applicability of the proposed barriers for sustainable manufacturing adoption. Second, the modified fuzzy Stepwise weight assessment ratio analysis (SWARA) method has been used. Sensitivity analysis has also been conducted for this study to check the robustness of the proposed framework. The result shows that barrier “misalignment between the project aim, the main goals of the company, and the customer demand” is highest-ranked barrier having a negative impact on sustainable manufacturing adoption and should be eliminated primarily. The managers of textile manufacturing organizations must formulate strategies to eliminate all barriers in phase-wise manner as per their order of priority for successful sustainable manufacturing adoption in their organizations. This study has significant practical ramifications for policymakers and business professionals in designing strategies to encourage circularity in the textile and apparel industry.
