Algorithms are proposed that compute determinants and characteristic polynomials of n × n matrices without divisions in \documentclass[12pt]{minimal} \usepackage{amsmath} \usepackage{wasysym} \usepackage{amsfonts} \usepackage{amssymb} \usepackage{amsbsy} \usepackage{mathrsfs} \usepackage{upgreek} \setlength{\oddsidemargin}{-69pt} \begin{document} $$ \leqslant \frac{9}{7} \cdot $$ \end{document}⋅n3+1/2 ring operations and adjoint matrices in three times more ring operations.
