摘要
This paper presents an experimental and numerical study on Polyamide 6.6 (PA6.6) monofilaments for needle-punching tests. First, a device especially developed for this study is described and the experimental protocol is presented. Based on these experiments, a numerical finite element model was set up to take into account the influence of the strain location on the breaking strength of PA6.6 filaments. The variability of the rupture force values was also presented in this model through a statistical breakage criterion using the Weibull formalism. A satisfactory correlation between experiments and simulations results was obtained with respect to the values of force at rupture. Thus, the model presented in this paper was able to take into account the variability of the PA6.6 behavior and the localization of the deformation due to the type of the considered stress. This model can also be adapted to other materials than PA6.6.
