摘要
While measurement model validation is an essential step before theory testing, it is often under emphasized and sometimes even ignored in entrepreneurship and small business research. In this study, we examined measurement model misspecification in the previous literature by reviewing research published from 2002 to 2011 across four entrepreneurship and small business journals. We found that 53.9 % of the studies had misspecified their measurement models. To enhance rigor in the field, we argue that researchers need to pay more attention to the measurement model when applying structural equation modeling techniques.
