摘要
A 61/2 year old eretrean girl suffered from severe aortic and mitral insufficiency following rheumatic fever. The deficient aortic valve was replaced by an autograft consisting of the pulmonary valve and likewise the pulmonary artery root, based on the Ross procedure. At the same time the mitral valve was reconstructed. After the operation the result regarding to the aortic valve was excellent, the mitral valve showed an only slightly insufficiency. Conclusion: Thus, a pulmonary autograft is a real alternative to an implantation of an aortic valve prothesis. This case report could encourage specialists to apply the Ross operational technique to patients suffering from similar conditions.
