A procedure for solving the stationary electrodiffusion equations together with the Poisson equation by the method of perturbation theory is developed. It is demonstrated that the use of the Boltzmann equilibrium distribution for the zero-order approximation of the internal solution is incorrect. A correct procedure of obtaining the zero-order approximation is developed. ©2002 Plenum Publishing Corporation.
