Current Situation and Development Countermeasures of China's Private Enterprises in Export

It is because of China's reform in the foreign trade system that Chinese private enterprises are allowed and encouraged to import and export directly. Export of private enterprises has remained a relatively fast development ever since 1999. In the face of the current world financial crisis, Chinese private enterprises are still doing better than the national average level in export, but these enterprises are also facing challenges and difficulties which are summarized in this article as difficulties in export operation, independent innovation and sustainable development in transformation. To tackle these difficulties, the authors suggest that it is helpful for private export enterprises to strengthen and improve their performance in four aspects. They should strengthen their transformation of growth mode, strengthen capital operation, strengthen their operation and management of enterprises and enhance training of professionals. By doing so, the private export enterprises will hopefully improve their competitiveness and turn comparative advantages into competitive ones in the international market to achieve sustainable development.
