摘要
Polycrystalline yttrium-aluminum garnet (YAG) was processed via mechanical alloying (MA). The powder mixture comprising equal proportions of elemental aluminum and yttria was mechanically alloyed (MA'd) for 5 h and the MA'd powder mixture was heat treated. While MA resulted in aluminum-yttrium solid solution, the reaction leading to the formation of YAG occurs during the subsequent heat treatment of the powder mixture. (C) 2002 Elsevier Science B.V.
