摘要
The complete genome of a novel papillomavirus was isolated from a Cutaneous papillomatous lesion of a North American porcupine (Erethizon dorsatum) by using multiply primed rolling-circle amplification (RCA). The nucleotide sequence, genome organization, and phylogenetic position of the Erethizon dorsatum papillomavirus type 1 (EdPV-1) were detennined. EdPV-1 is only distantly related to other benign cutaneous papillomavirus sequences and is the first member of the novel Sigma papillomavirus genus. (C) 2004 Elsevier Inc. All rights reserved.
