摘要
The authors argue that the health and human rights rhetoric is susceptible to being co-opted by industry opponents of public health initiatives. First they address how opponents have co-opted the human rights language in battles over tobacco and gun control policy to the detriment of desirable public health goals. Then they discuss why there are limits to embedding human rights in law and why a more effective strategy might be to focus on organizing public health social movements.
