The article presents the notion of body in the courses on nature taught by Merleau-Ponty at College de France between 1956 and 1960. In those courses, the philosopher examines the concept of nature in philosophy and science, the question of animality, and the transition to a culture and archeology of the human body. We note the displacement of his philosophy from a phenomenological description to the ontology of the wild being. The notion of body acquires new outlines in his thinking, expressing investigative horizons for contemporary philosophy to the study of corporeality and Physical Education.
