摘要
Plant poisoning is common in small animals. IN this article we describe the case of a dog poisoned with a cardiotoxic plant, Cotyledon orbiculata. The patient suffered an acute gastrointestinal upset (vomiting and diarrhea) and cardiac abnormalities (severe bradycardia with sinoatrial arrest). According to the owner, the dog had been vomiting considerable amounts of a garden plant, identified as a Crassulacea. After six days of supportive treatment, the patient recovered favourably. Cotyledon orbiculata is a plant included in the family of Crasulaceas that contains cardiac glycosides. According to authors' knowledge is the first description in dogs of intoxication with Cotyledon orbiculata.
